ProofQueue

Who uses it

Anywhere a customer has to say yes to a printed thing.

ProofQueue works on PDF artwork, so the trade does not really matter. What matters is whether your proofs are large, double-sided, multi-page, or revised more than once — because those are the four things email handles worst.

  • Sector

    Sign and wide-format

Banners, coroplast, yard signs, vehicle graphics, acrylic lettering. The artwork is metres wide and the customer is judging it in a browser window. Rulers, a drawn cutline and a written finish size are the difference between an approval and a reprint.

  • Sector

    Commercial and digital print

Catalogues, booklets, brochures, business cards. Multi-page proofs are where email quietly fails: the customer checks page one and replies. ProofQueue puts every page on the screen at once.

  • Sector

    Labels, stickers and packaging

Small format, tight tolerances, and a safe area that matters more than anything on the page. The safe line is drawn on the artwork and the finish size after die-cutting is written next to the approve button.

  • Sector

    Trade and wholesale printers

Your customer is another printer, and they are forwarding your proof to their customer. A link that opens cleanly, carries your name and cannot be downloaded travels better than an attachment.

  • Sector

    Print brokers and design studios

You are in the middle, holding artwork from one side and approval from the other. The version history and the named approval are the record that protects you when the two disagree.

  • Sector

    In-house print and marketing teams

Same problem, no invoice attached. Someone still has to prove which version of the conference banner was signed off, and by whom.

Fit

ProofQueue is probably a fit if…

  • You send proofs as PDF attachments today
  • Jobs routinely go through two or more revisions
  • You print double-sided or multi-page work
  • Your customers are not designers and need the size explained
  • More than one person in the shop touches a job
  • You have ever reprinted because the wrong version was approved

Honesty

It is probably not what you want if…

  • You need the customer to mark up and annotate the artwork directly
  • You want a full MIS or job-costing system — ProofQueue does proofing
  • Your proofs are colour-critical contract proofs, where a screen is not the deciding surface
  • You need proofs of something other than PDF artwork

We would rather tell you now than three weeks into a trial.

On the floor

Print shops are not offices.

A proof gets opened on a phone in a van, on a laptop at a customer's kitchen table, and on a workstation next to a press at eleven at night. ProofQueue has a light and a dark appearance and an automatic mode that changes over on a schedule you set.

Small thing. It is the difference between a screen you can read on a press floor and one you squint at.

The same proof page in its dark appearance, with the artwork and the specifications panel on a dark background.

Tell us what you print.

We will show you ProofQueue against that kind of job rather than a generic demo file.
